(Oral) The petitioners who are working as Pump Operators/ Electricians in the P.W.D. (Public Health), Government of Punjab, seek a mandamus for the grant of the revised pay scales recommended by various Pay Commissions with regard to skilled and semi-skilled staff in the services of the Punjab Government. During the course of hearing, learned counsel for the parties are ad-idem that the controversy involved in this case stands settled by this Court in favour of the petitioners vide a decision rendered in L.P.A.No.44 of 2009 (State of Punjab and others versus Rajinder Pal Gauttam and others) as well as the subsequent decisions given by various Benches CWP No.303 of 1997 [2] including dated 4.3.2011 rendered in Civil Writ Petition No.3820 of 2011 (Bitu Ram and others versus State of Punjab and others) granting somewhat similar reliefs. The SLP filed against the order passed in LPA No.44 of 2009 has also been dismissed by the Hon'ble Supreme Court vide order dated 12.7.2010. In these circumstances, the writ petition is disposed of in terms of the aforesaid decisions in Rajinder Pal Gautam's case (supra) and Bitu Ram and others' case (supra). Dasti.
