Prabir Kumar Chatterjee, Special P.P. ----- 03/04.08.2025 Heard the parties The petitioner has been made accused in connection with S.T. Case No. 478 of 2022 arising out of Ghatshila P.S. Case No. 55 of 2022 corresponding to G.R. Case No. 187 of 2022, for the offences registered under Sections 12 of the Jharkhand Bovine Animal Prohibition of Slaughter Act, 2005, pending in the Court of learned District and Additional Sessions Judge-I, Ghatshila. Letter has been received from learned District & Additional Sessions Judge-I, Ghatshila with a request to extend the period for disposal of S.T. Case No. 478 of 2022 in view of the direction given by this Court in B.A. No. 2611 of 2025 directing the Trial Court to dispose of the trial within three months. It has been reported that the statement of the accused persons has recorded under Section 313 of the Cr. P.C and the trial was likely to be concluded within two months. In view of the aforesaid facts, I am not inclined to release the petitioner, on bail. Accordingly, his prayer for bail stands rejected.
