Operative part
Heard Mr. Harsha Kumar Astana, learned counsel for the writ petitioner. In support of his claim, the petitioner had, in fact, enclosed a copy of the Birth Certificate issued by the Registrar of Births and Deaths, Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad, wherein the date of birth of the writ petitioner has been recorded as 21.01.1975. It appears as though that by sheer inadvertence, the entry relating to his date of birth in his passport bearing No.B 1760860 has been recorded as 03.02.1977. Such corrections being insignificant and inconsequential, they are required to be carried out upon being satisfied about the genuineness of the claim in that regard. In fact, this very question has been considered in great detail in WP No.19376 of 2007. By the judgment rendered on 21.09.2007, this Court directed the respondents to receive the application of the petitioner for making the necessary correction of the entries of the date of birth of the writ petitioner. In the facts and circumstances stated above, I direct the respondent to receive the application of the writ petitioner for making the necessary correction of entries of the date of birth from 03.02.1977 to 21.01.1975 and issue the revised or corrected passport within a further period of 30 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. With this, the writ petition stands disposed of at the stage of admission, but however, without costs. --------------------------------- Nooty Ramamohana Rao, J 22nd October 2010
