By this application, the petitioner, who was granted settlement of No.32 Doipara Fishery by an order dated 2/5/2005 issued by the respondent No.2, for a period of 7 years, makes a grievance that the application dated 3/2/2011 filed by the petitioner for grant of extension of the term of the lease, has not yet b een disposed of. Mr. S.R. Rajbongshi, learned Standing counsel, submits that in view of t he limited prayer made by the writ petitioner, this writ petition can be dispose d of today at the motion stage itself by directing the respondent No.2 to consid er and dispose of the said representation in accordance with law and in terms of the guidelines in force. The learned Standing counsel, further submits that the same may be directed to be disposed of within a reasonable period of time. The learned counsel for the petitioner also endorses the course of actio n suggested by the learned Standing Counsel. In view of the submissions of the learned counsel for the parties, this writ petition is disposed of, at the motion stage, as agreed to by them, directi ng the respondent No.2 to dispose of the representation filed by the petitioner on 3/2/2011 (Annexure-6) for extension of the term of lease of 32, Doipara Fishe ry on or before 10/3/2012. The petitioner is permitted to furnish before the respondent No.2 a cert ified copy of this order for his doing the needful.
