Applicants–Chaman Lal, Sumer Singh, Sattoo Lal @ Santoo Lal and Siya Ram, who are in jail in connection with Case Crime No. 100 of 2012, relating to offences punishable under section 3, 11 of Uttarakhand Protection of Cow Progeny Act, 2007 and one punishable under section 11 (1) (gha) of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, Police Station Raipur, District Dehradun, have sought their release on bail. Learned counsel for the applicants submitted that fifteen bullocks were said to have been found being transported in a truck. Learned counsel for the applicants submitted that applicants have been falsely implicated. It is argued that it is not clear as to how running the truck was chased by the informant and others. It is further submitted that applicants have no criminal history. Having heard learned counsel for the applicants, and learned counsel for the State, and further considering the nature of offence, without expressing 3 any opinion as to the final merits of the case, this Court is of the view that applicants deserve bail. Accordingly, the Bail Application is allowed. Let the applicants- Chaman Lal, Sumer Singh, Sattoo Lal @ Santoo Lal and Siya Ram be released on bail on executing personal bond by each one of them, and furnishing two sureties, for each one of them, each of the like amount, to the satisfaction of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Dehradun.
