Learned counsel submits that the petitioners, who were working in the Roadways Department, are entitled to grant of pay scale of Rs.1640-2925 w.e.f. 01.01.1986 and thereafter, at par with the Inspectors working in Food and Supplies Department, Audit, Co-operative, Labour Department, Municipal Corporation, Punjab in view of the judgment passed by this Court in CWP-9175- 2000 titled as Daljit Singh and Others vs. State of Punjab and Others, decided on 26.05.2017, against which LPA and SLP also stand dismissed on 27.02.2019 and 17.01.2025, Annexue P-12 and P-14 respectively. Therafter, vide letter dated
21.05.2025, the decision has been taken only to grant the said scale to the petitioners in the said petition despite the fact that the petitioners herein being similarly situated, with regard to which, they would submit representation/s, which may be directed to be decided in a time bound manner, to which learned State counsel has no objection to the limited prayer made.

In view of the above and without commenting on the merits of the MOHIT 2025.05.29 16:34 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document CWP-16355-2025 (O&M) -2- case, this petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to the respondents that in case, petitioners submit representation/s within a period of 4 weeks, the same shall be considered and decided, taking note of the afore-referred judgment, within a further period of 4 months, which this Court has no reason to believe the authorities would not address in a just, fair and reasonable manner. Upon doing so, after notice and hearing offered to them and if found entitled, grant the benefit forthwith. Needless to say, if the orders are adverse to their interest, the same shall contain reasons and the petitioners shall be free to seek legal redress thereupon. (AMAN CHAUDHARY) JUDGE
