Petitioners are councillors of Pathanamthitta Municipality. No confidence motion is moved and meetings are scheduled to be held on 10.1.2007 and petitioners apprehend danger to their lives. On instructions learned Government Pleader submitted that police is ready to grant protection. In the above circumstances, respondents 1 and 2 are directed to give adequate and effective protection to all councillors for attending the meetings of Pathanamthitta Municipal Council, scheduled to be held on 10.1.2007 and also for attending the meetings which would be held for electing the new Chairperson and Vice-chairman and to see that they are going to the Municipal Office and attending the meetings without any obstruction.
