JUSTICE M.I.ARUN ORAL ORDER Petitioner is said to be the Contractor engaged in public works. Upon work allotted by respondent – BBMP, he is said to have executed certain works regarding construction activities. In regard, a sum of Rs.18,00,150/- is pending to be paid by respondent – BBMP to the petitioner. Hence, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition with the following reliefs: “(a) Issue a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to make the payment of the full amount of Rs.18,00,150/- (Rupees eighteen lakh one hundred and fifty only) as the final bill amount to the petitioner vide Annexure – D. - 3 - NC: 2025:KHC:33729 WP No. 56986 of 2018 HC-KAR (b) Issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to consider the representation dated
05.06.2018 submitted by the petitioner herein vide Annexure – D. (c) Issue any writ or order or direction as this Hon’ble Court deems fit under the circumstances of the case.”
#2. Learned counsel respondent – BBMP disputes the quantum claimed by the petitioner. However, he fairly submits that the request of the petitioner will be considered in accordance with law and if there is any amount to be paid to the petitioner, the same will be paid to him.
#3. Hence, I pass the following: ORDER (i) The writ petition is disposed of. (ii) Respondents are directed to consider the request of the petitioner, in accordance with law and pay the amount due to him within a - 4 - NC: 2025:KHC:33729 WP No. 56986 of 2018 HC-KAR period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
