This petition has been filed by the National Association for the Blind in which a prayer has been made that respondent No.1 has advertised on 21st/22nd August, 2004, inviting applications for 3433 posts and after being satisfied that proper reservation has not been made for the blind and partially sighted persons.

The learned Counsel appearing for Municipal Corporation for Greater Mumbai has pointed out an affidavit dated 21st day of -2- December, 2004 filed by A.G. Hire, Deputy Municipal Commissioner of respondent No.1, in which it is mentioned that 3 per cent of the posts would be reserved for handicapped persons and out of that, one per cent has to be kept reserved for the blind or partially sighted persons. Mr. Singhvi, learned Counsel appearing for respondent No.1, submits that Rules will be strictly complied with and he submits that 75 posts in various categories covering the G.R. dated 13-8-2004 and remaining vacancies in the posts identified by G.R. dated 13-8-2004 will be filled up and these vacancies will be advertised and posts will be filled up by proper procedure within four months. In view of this affidavit, nothing further survives in the petition. However, liberty is granted to the petitioners to revive this petition, in case there is non-compliance of the order of this Court. This petition is accordingly disposed of. CHIEF JUSTICE S.A.
