Petition under Article 226 of the constitution of India praying that in the circumstances stated in the Affidavit filed herein the High Court will be pleased to to issue a writ, order or direction more particularly one in the nature of writ of mandamus declaring the inaction of the 1st responent in not considering and effecting trasfer of ownership of the vehicle and conversion of the category of vehicle bearing R.No.AP 28 D 5133 from " Passenger Vehicle" to "Goods Carriage Vehicle" as arbitrary, malafide illegal, improper and contrary to the statutory provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act 1988 and the Rules made there under and consequently dirct the 1st respondent to forthwith effect transfer of ownership of the vehicle and conversion of the category of the vehicle from "passenger Vehicle" to "Goods Carriage Vehicle" and grant such other necessary relief or reliefs Counsel for the Petitioner:MR.RAJANIKANTH JWALA Counsel for the Respondent No.: GP FOR TRANSPORT The Court made the following : THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE N.V. RAMANA Writ Petition No. 6464 of 2008 Order: The petitioner states that he purchased vehicle (Mahindra Jeep) bearing Registration No. AP 28 D 5133, and thereafter, he made representation dated 01.12.2007 to the 1st respondent, namely the Regional Transport Officer, enclosing necessary forms together with challan, requesting him to effect transfer of ownership of the said vehicle in his name and for conversion of the vehicle from passenger to goods, but till date no action thereon had been taken. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Assistant Government Pleader for Transport, and both of them agreed for disposal of the writ petition with the following directions: The 1st respondent, namely the Regional Transport Officer, Regional Transport Authority, Uppal, Ranga Reddy District (East), is directed to consider and dispose of the representation dated 01.12.2007 of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders thereon in accordance with law, expeditiously, preferably within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
