Hence the present is disposed of with the following directions:- (i) The Deputy Commissioner/Settlement Officer, Karimganj within 2(two) week s from the date of receipt of this order, to be produced by the petitioner, shal l furnish the Commissioner and Secretary to the Govt. of Assam, Revenue and D.M. Department, the vacancy position viz. number of vacancy to be filled up on comp assionate ground from the year 2005 onwards; (ii) The Commissioner and Secretary on receipt of such information shall plac e the matter in the next meeting of the State Level Committee for consideration of the appointment of the petitioner on compassionate ground in terms of the pol icy decision taken by the Government. (iii) Necessary decision shall be taken by the State Level Committee within 45 days from the date of receipt of the information directed to be furnished by th e Deputy Commissioner/Settlement Officer, Karimganj. The decision that may be taken shall immediately be communicated to the petitioner. The writ petition is accordingly disposed of.
