Operative part

.... .... Respondent/s ====================================================== Appearance : For the Petitioner/s : Mr. Arun Kumar Singh( No.4), Advocate. For the Respondent/s : Mr. ====================================================== CORAM: HONOURABLE MR. JUSTICE AHSANUDDIN AMANULLAH ORAL ORDER 2 08-04-2013 Heard learned counsel for the petitioner. Nobody appears on behalf of the State. The petitioner is aggrieved by the inaction of the respondents on his application for issuance of arms licences for non prohibited bore rifle and revolver. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that though applications have been made before the concerned authorities in the prescribed form on 26th June, 2012 and even after the formalities required having been completed, the licences have not been issued till date. Learned counsel submits that the necessity for the petitioner to apply for licence was in view of threats received by him to his life and if there is inordinate delay in Patna High Court CWJC No.7266 of 2013 (2) dt.08-04-2013 2 consideration of his request, the whole purpose is defeated and he is also exposed to serious threat to his life. In view of the fact that the petitioner has already applied for licence before the authority concerned, which is still pending, no useful purpose would be served to keep the matter pending. Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed off with a direction that the District Magistrate, Rohtas at Sasaram shall take a final decision on the applications made by the petitioner as aforesaid. The petitioner, if required shall also cooperate in any further information/clarification that may be required from him. However, the whole exercise be completed and final decision taken by the District Magistrate latest within a period of two months from the date of production/receipt of a copy of this order before him.
