COM M ON JUD GM EN T By m eans of t hese writ pet it ions, pet it ioners have challenged Not ificat ion dat ed 15.03.2024 issued by Secret ary, Labour Depart m ent , Governm ent of Ut t arakhand. By t he said order, t he m inim um wages of indust rial em ployees were revised by exercising power under Sect ion 4( 1) of t he Minim um Wage Act , 1948.

2. According t o t he pet it ioners, t he prescribed procedure for revising t he wages was not followed. Various ot her cont ent ions were raised by t he pet it ioners. Co- ordinat e Bench vide order dat ed

17.06.2025, perm it t ed t he pet it ioners t o m ake represent at ion t o t he Secret ary, Depart m ent of Labour against t he im pugned not ificat ion.

St at e counsel subm it s t hat t he represent at ion m ade by t he pet it ioners pursuant t o t he said int erim order was considered and rej ect ed by t he Secret ary Labour Depart m ent vide order dat ed 31.07.2025. He 2 subm it s t hat pet it ioners have not challenged t he order whereby t heir represent at ion was rej ect ed. He subm it s t hat , in view of t he subsequent developm ent , nam ely, rej ect ion of t he represent at ion subm it t ed by t he pet it ioners, t he reliefs claim ed in t hese writ pet it ions do not survive.
