Bishnoi, Public Prosecutor. <<>> BY THE COURT: The petitioner, wife of the convict Alimudeen, has sent this letter petition seeking permanent parole for her husband. The respondents have submitted in their reply that the matter of the husband of the petitioner for grant of permanent parole is pending with the State Parole Committee and will be considered in the meeting of the Committee after receiving the required information/reports of the Superintendent of Police, Koochbihar (West Bengal) and Bikaner (Rajasthan). It is also noticed from the reply submissions that as on

13.04.2012, the husband of the petitioner had already served the sentence for a period of about 16 years 2 months and 15 days including Jail remission and State remission. In view of the submissions made in the reply, though we do not consider it proper to pass an order for grant of permanent parole in this case at this stage particularly when the matter is said to be pending with the State Parole DB Criminal Parole Writ Petition No. 3284/2012. Nafisa Begum Vs. State of Rajasthan & Ors. [ 2 ] Committee but then, it appears appropriate and hence is observed that it shall be expected of the State Parole Committee to take a decision on the petitioner's prayer for grant of permanent parole to her husband without further delay and as far as possible, within 30 days from today. This letter petition is dismissed at this stage subject to the observations foregoing and with liberty to the petitioner to move afresh, if so necessary. (C.M.TOTLA), J.
