(ORAL) The petitioner-Transport Company seeks a direction to the Regional Transport Authority, Jalandhar - respondent No. 1 to consider and decide its application dated 22.02.2008 (Annexure P-1) for grant of extension of the route up to Gurdaspur from Mukerian route and increase of trips from half to two return trips daily. It is the petitioner's grievance that more than a year has passed, but no decision has been taken by respondent No.1 in terms of Section 80 (3) of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. Having heard learned counsel for the petitioner and keeping in view the nature of relief sought in this writ petition, however, without expressing any views on the merits thereof, I C.W.P NO. 4389 OF 2009 -2- deem it appropriate to dispose of this writ petition with a direction to the State Transport Commissioner, Punjab and Regional Transport Authority, Jalandhar, to consider and dispose of the petitioner's above-stated application dated 22.02.2008 (Annexure P-1), in accordance with law and the Scheme, if any, in the subject as early as possible but not later than three months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
