CORAM:- HON'BLE MR.JUSTICE NAWAB SINGH Present: Mr.Joginder Sharma, Advocate, with the petitioners. Mr.Gurnihal S. Grewal, AAG, Punjab. Mr.S.S.Kaliraman, Advocate with Kulwinder Kaur - complainant – respondent No.2. *** NAWAB SINGH J.(ORAL) This petition under Section 482 of Code of Criminal Procedure, has been filed seeking quashing of First Information Report (for short 'FIR) No.398 dated October 09, 2007 registered under Sections 419, 420, 467, 468, 471/120-B of the Indian Penal Code (for short 'IPC') in Police Station Civil Lines, Amritsar. It is contended that the parties have compromised the matter. Respondent No.2 - complainant is present in person. She has stated that the matter has been compromised between the parties. The compromise deed (Annexure P2) has also been placed on record. Indeed, the dispute between the parties was of personal nature. In view of this, there should not be any impediment in allowing the parties to compromise the matter. Support to this view can be had from the authority 'Madan Mohan Abbot Vs. State of Punjab' 2008 (2) RCR CRM No.M-28761 of 2011(O&M) [2] (Criminal) 429, wherein, Hon'ble Supreme Court has ruled that in such type of cases, where the dispute is of personal nature, Court should ordinarily, accept the compromise. In view of above, petition is accepted. Consequently, FIR No.398 dated October 09, 2007 registered under Sections 419, 420, 467, 468, 471/120-B IPC in Police Station Civil Lines, Amritsar and subsequent proceedings arising therefrom, are hereby quashed.
