Judgment

HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE NAWAB SINGH Present: Mr. H.S. Rakhra, Advocate, for the petitioner. Mr. J.S. Bhullar, AAG, Punjab. Complainant in person. NAWAB SINGH J.(ORAL) By this petition under Section 482 of Code of Criminal Procedure, the petitioner seeks quashing of First Information Report (for short 'FIR) No.31 dated February 6th, 2009 under Sections 31 and 32 of Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005, registered in Police Station City, Roop Nagar. Grounds pleaded are that the parties have compromised the matter with the intervention of respectables. All matrimonial disputes have been amicably settled. They have also tendered compromise-deed (Annexure P-2). Having regard to the fact that all matrimonial differences have been resolved, this Court is of opinion that no useful purpose would be served by allowing the criminal proceedings to continue against the petitioner. In view of the above, the petition is accepted, FIR No.31 dated February 6th, 2009 under Sections 31 and 32 of Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005, registered in Police Station City, Roop Nagar and subsequent proceedings arising therefrom, are hereby quashed.
