CORAM: Hon'ble Mr.Justice Rajan Gupta Present: Mr.Harish Goyal, Advocate, for the petitioner. Rajan Gupta, J. (Oral) This is a petition filed under section 438 Cr.P.C. seeking pre- arrest bail in a case registered against the petitioner vide FIR No. 26 dated
18.2.2012 under sections 465/468/471/420 IPC at Police Station Fatehgarh Sahib. Learned counsel for petitioner contends that only allegation against petitioner is that he has submitted forged certificate to show that he had cleared BA Part-I examination to get appointment as Constable. According to him, this is only a case of documentary evidence. Custodial interrogation of petitioner is not required. Heard learned counsel for petitioner. Case was registered on the complaint of Head Constable Manmohan Singh who stated that petitioner had produced fake certificate with regard to his educational qualifications. A communication was sent to Controller, Punjabi University, Patiala. The university verified that no such certificate as produced by the petitioner was issued by it. Thus, it is evident that petitioner submitted a forged certificate for getting appointment as Constable. Investigating agency may require his custodial interrogation to Crl. Misc. No.M-12413 of 2012 2 know modus operandi of the crime. The petition is without any merit and is hereby dismissed.
