In compliance of the order passed by this Court dated 3.3.2025, the Officers namely Shri Vaibhav Srivastava, Secretary, Home Government of U.P., Shri Nachiketa Jha, Inspector General of Police, Shri Anis Ahmad Ansari, Deputy Inspector General Police Headquarter, Shri Ashok Kumar Singh, Finance Controller Police Headquarter, are present in person before this Court. Learned Standing Counsel has submitted that, in compliance with the directions issued by this Court from time to time in this petition, departmental proceedings have been initiated against the officers/employees involved in the excess payment to delinquent employees. As of now, 43 officers/employees have been punished. In 58 cases, inquiries are at the verge of finalization. He further submitted that cases from the last ten years are under scrutiny, and due to the actions taken by the department, approximately Rs. 7.95 crores have already been recovered. Learned Standing Counsel prays for and is granted a short time to file an affidavit of ADG Establishment, bringing on record the progress made in this case by the department regarding the financial loss to the state exchequer. List this case on 21.04.2025. The interim order, granted earlier, shall continue till the next date of listing. The officers present in court, need not appear again.
