#1. ORDER 21.08.2026 This matter taken up through hybrid arrangement.
#2. The Petitioners have filed the present Writ Petition seeking a direction to Opposite Party Nos.5 and 6, named, the Tahasildar-cum-Executive Magistrate, Pipili and the S.D.O., Irrigation, Pipili, respectively, to consider their representation dated 22.05.2026 concerning alleged encroachment over Gochar/Government land in Khata No.412, Plot Nos.1139 and 1129, Kisam-Chakanal, Mouza- Uttarasasan, under Pipili Tahasil, District-Puri. A further direction has been sought to Opposite Party No.7 to extend necessary cooperation in the eviction proceeding.

#4. Learned counsel for the Petitioners submits that the alleged encroachment over the Chakanal has caused serious inconvenience to the inhabitants of the locality, particularly during the rainy season.
#5. It is submitted that despite the representation dated
22.05.2026 submitted before the concerned authorities, no effective action has yet been taken.
#6. In view of the nature of the grievance, the Petitioners are directed to submit a fresh representation before Opposite Party Nos.5 and 6 within seven working days from today. On receipt of such representation, the said authorities shall cause an enquiry into the alleged encroachment, including verification of the relevant revenue records and the nature/classification of the land. If any unauthorised encroachment is found, the competent authority initiate and conclude appropriate proceedings in accordance with the provisions of the Odisha Prevention of Land Encroachment Act, 1972 after following due process of law and take consequential steps for removal of the encroachment.
#7. Opposite Party No.7 (the I.I.C., Pipili) shall extend necessary cooperation to the competent authority in accordance with law.
#8. With the aforesaid observation and direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of.
