Petitioner has approached this Court seeking a mandamus directing the first respondent to provide adequate police protection to the life of the petitioner and his family members.

2. Briefly put, the case of the petitioner is as follows: Petitioner is doing business of consultation in house building. He is living with his wife and two minor children. In connection with his business, he has to travel from Thiruvalla to Chengannoor frequently. Fifth respondent has been making frequent visits to the work site of the sixth respondent in respect of which the petitioner is the consultant. The case is that the fifth respondent has threatened the petitioner that he would kill the petitioner if he comes to Chengannoor and it is further stated that the fifth WP(C).NO.17927/2012 M 2 respondent has again threatened the petitioner that he would stab him and his family members to death.

3. Though served, there is no appearance for the party respondent. Learned Government Pleader got instructions. On instructions he would submit that actually a petition was received and the fifth respondent was called to the police station, that he came and he apologized that he would not repeat it and, therefore, no crime was registered.
