O R D E RIn this Petition filed under Sec. 438 Cr.P.C. the petitioner who isthe accused in Crime No.970 of 2006 of Changanassery Police Stationfor an offence punishable under Secs. 3 and 7 of the EssentialCommodities Act, 1955, seeks anticipatory bail.

I heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and thelearned Public Prosecutor.

Having regard to the nature of the allegations levelledagainst the petitioner and the other circumstances of the case, I aminclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, adirection is issued to the officer-in-charge of the police stationconcerned to release the petitioner on bail for a period of one monthin the event of his arrest in connection with the above case on hisexecuting a bond for Rs. 10,000/- with two solvent sureties each forthe like amount to the satisfaction to the said officer and subject to thefollowing conditions: 1. Petitioner shall report before the InvestigatingOfficer between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. on all Wednesdays. BA 7443/06-: 2 :-2. The petitioner shall make himself available forinterrogation as and when required by the InvestigatingOfficer. 3. The petitioner shall not influence or intimidate theprosecution witnesses nor shall he attempt to tamper withthe evidence for the prosecution.

Petitioner shall not commit any offence while onbail.
