The case of the prosecution is that was the Sub Inspectorof Police, Kanakakkunnu Police Station while proceeding on patrol dutyat about 1.45 p.m. on 7-10-2006, the first accused was seen riding amotorbike with the second accused as the pillion rider. Gettingsuspicious, the police party intercepted the motor bike andinterrogated A1. He was found in possession of a double barrelledcountry gun having two bullets, A1 was unable to account for hispossession of the above firearm nor could he produce any documentto justify his possession of the firearm. Both the accused werearrested and produced before court. The petitioner is involved inseven other cases of which two are murder cases and one involvingSec. 326 I.P.C. Investigation of the case is still at the preliminary B.A. No. 6984/06-:2:-stage and if at this stage of investigation, the petitioner is releasedon bail that will definitely hamper the smooth investigation of thecase.
