2006. Smt. Gangamma was also referred to KIMs Hospital. Hubli the Medical Officer of Savanur Hospital. Gangamma was admitted in female Surgical A Ward with the history of homicidal burns. Gangaxnma, on enquiry told that he has sustained burn injuries as a result of throwing kerosene by her son. She was also treated by Dr. M. Desai. She has sustained superficial and deep bums to the extent of 35% to 4G,b. She expired on 30-03-2006. Accordingly. a certificate in this regard is issued as per Ex.P. 10. These certificates at Ex.P.9 and Ex.P. 10 were issued on the basis of the entries In original Medic Legal Case Register. During cross-examination, he states that, the person who suffers 60% to 70% burn injuries would be suffering severe pain. In such a situation, pain killers are injected by the Doctor. Sedatives are also given to such patients. After the sedatives are given, the patient will be in semi- 14 conscious or drowsy state for some time. Such a patient remains in drowsy state for 3 to 4 hours.

18. PW. 12 Is the Lecturer, at FSL KIMs at Hubli. He has deposed that, he conducted postmortem examination on the dead body of Basayya. Basayya had died due to burn InjurIes. The Injuries were ante-mortem in nature. Basayya had died due to toxemic shock consequent upon the burn injuries sustained by him. He Issued the Postmortem report accordingly. During cross-examInation, he stated that. the fingers of both the hands of Basayya were found burnt. He cannot state with reference to the nature of burn Injuries sustained by Gangamma as to whether she was doused with kerosene and then set fire. Basayya could not have given his finger print.

19. PW. 13 Dr.Santosh Gudageri has deposed that, 26- 03-2006. examined Irayva Shivantdrayya Hosamani at 5.30 p.m..
