No. to an extent of 1 acre 10½ guntas of Chikkabelavangala Village, Doddabelavangala Hobli, Doddaballapura Taluk, Bangalore Rural District, has sought for issuance of writ in the nature of mandamus to direct - 3 - NC: 2025:KHC:9342 WP No. 4308 of 2025 respondents 1 to 3 to pass appropriate orders in terms of the application of the petitioner at Annexure-C dated

20.06.2024. Petitioner has also sought for change of land use from agricultural to commercial as regards to an extent of 1 acre 10½ guntas in Sy. No.79/3 of Chikkabelavangala Village, Doddabelavangala Hobli, Doddaballapura Taluk, Bangalore Rural District.

Learned counsel appearing for respondents submits that there are various requirements to be fulfilled for the purpose of change of land use and that necessary approval has to be obtained from the Planning Authority of the State Government in terms of Section 14A of the Karnataka Town and Country Planning Act, 1961. It is submitted that they would be calling for objections by way of advertisement for proposed change of land use and further, the matter would be referred to the Bengaluru Metropolitan Region Development Authority (BMRDA) and other procedural formalities are required to be cleared - 4 - NC: 2025:KHC:9342 WP No. 4308 of 2025 before the matter is finally referred to the Government for its approval.

3. Taking note of the said submission, respondents - Authorities are directed to endeavour to complete the process within a period of 8 months from today. It is made clear that, time limit prescribed is an outer limit and if all formalities are completed, it is open for the Authorities to expedite the process.
