The present writ petition has been filed for following reliefs:- “a) For direction upon the respondents to remove the land from the list of prohibited property i.e. raiyati land of the petitioners situated at Mouza-177, C.S. Khata No.29, bearing C.S. Plot No. 517 in relation to three sale deed vide Nos. 6250 dated 08.08.2003, 5377 dated 03.10.2002 and 1649 dated
14.12.2010, displayed in respondents website namely National Generic Documents Registration System (NGDRS in short). b). For direction upon the respondents to accept rent and issue rent receipt to the petitioners in respect of the property purchased by the petitioners on the basis of sale deed nos.6250 dated 08.08.2003, 5377 dated
03.10.2002 and 1649 dated 14.12.2010.”
It has been brought to the notice of this Court that Section 22-A of the Registration Act, 1908 and the notification issued on the strength of Section 22-A of the Registration Act, 1908 have already been quashed by the Division Bench of this Court vide order dated 09.05.2025 passed in W.P. (PIL) No.689 of 2021.
Thus, the authorities are supposed not to act on the strength of Section 22-A of the Registration Act, 1908.
