O R D E RThis criminal original petition is filed seeking a direction to the respondent police to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner and his family members and also direct the respondents to conduct a thorough investigation into the threats and attempts made on the petitioner's life and take appropriate action against the perpetrators. 2. It is the case of the petitioner that he is a Minority President of Bharatiya Janata Party in Puducherry, residing at Pallipadi, 2/6 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis Crl.O.P.No.31033 of 2025 Chidambaram; the petitioner has indulged in certain agitations and meetings; while so, on 06.05.2025 around 08.30 p.m., while he was returning after conducting night prayers in mosque, some unknown persons attempted to run over him by a car and the same was recorded in CCTV camera. 3. It is the further case of the petitioner that he has given a complaint to the respondent police to take action, however, no action has been taken; apprehending that he may be attacked by some persons who are enemical towards him, the petitioner has filed this petition seeking police protection.

The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side), would submit that based on a complaint given by the petitioner on 09.05.2025, that some persons attempted to run over him, an enquiry was conducted in CSR.No.392 of 2025. He would further submit that on verification of the CCTV footages, it was found that no such incident had happened and the CSR has been closed on 20.05.2025. He further submitted that the alleged incidents dated 01.03.2024 and 3/6 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis Crl.O.P.No.31033 of 202502.05.2025 are said to have happened at Puducherry. Therefore, he would submit that there is no necessity to give police protection to the petitioner.

Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the records.
