The writ petitions have been filed for a direction to the respondent TRB to reschedule the examination date from 12.10.2025 for recruitment to the post of Graduate Assistants as per the Notification No.02/2025 dated 10.07.2025 and 24.07.2025 to any other suitable date.3. The case of the petitioners is that they have completed graduation, post graduation and B.Ed. and they are eligible to be appointed as Post Graduate Assistant. The respondent TRB published a Tentative Annual Planner, 2025, wherein for the post of PG Assistant, written examination was scheduled in the month of November, 2025. While so, on 10.07.2025, the respondent TRB issued recruitment notification for the post of PG Assistant. As per the said notification, 3/8 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P.Nos.38588 & 38656 of 2025the examination for recruitment was scheduled on 28.09.2025, which is prior to November 2025. Pursuant thereto, similarly placed person had filed W.P.No.35116 of 2025 seeking direction to the respondent TRB to fix the examination date for recruitment to the post of PG Assistants as per the Tentative Annual Planner, 2025, by considering his representation dated 18.08.2025. This court, by order dated 18.09.2025, had disposed of the writ petition, directing the respondent TRB to consider the said representation on its merits and pass orders, within a period of 3 weeks.4. It is the further case of the petitioner while the said representation is still pending, the respondent TRB has issued hall tickets to the candidates and schedule the written examination on 12.10.2025. The petitioners and similarly placed candidates have also requested to postpone the written examination since the TRB has introduced new syllabus for all subjects for the first time. The respondent TRB has also introduced Tamil language Eligibility Test. Since the petitioners do not have sufficient time to prepare for the examination, postponement is sought for.5. Mr.C.Iyyappa Raj, learned counsel appearing for some of the petitioners and Ms.Kavitha Rameshwar, learned counsel appearing for some of the petitioners would submit that the original syllabus was altered and new syllabus has been 4/8 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P.Nos.38588 & 38656 of 2025introduced and thereby the petitioners have requested the respondent TRB to postpone the examination. Further, even as per the Tentative Annual Planner, the exams ought to have been conducted only during the month of November, 2025. However, without giving sufficient time, the respondent TRB have conducted the examination.6. Per contra, leaned Additional Advocate General for the respondent TRB would submit that the notification was issued as early as on 10.07.2025. The TRB vide press news dated 24.07.2025 mentioned that the examination will be held on 24.07.2025. The similarly placed person had approached this Court only during the month of September, 2025 to consider the representation dated 18.08.2025 seeking postponement of examination as per the Tentative Annual Planner and this Court had directed the respondent TRB to consider the said representation. The said representation was considered and the same was rejected. He would further submit that 2,36,530 candidates have applied and centres have been alloted in all 38 districts and all the preliminary stages of examination like transporting question papers, and OMR sheets to the respective centres in various districts, release of hall tickets have also been completed and meeting had also been held for the official to monitor the centers and all the preparations have been completed. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.8. The notification is dated 10.07.2025. The TRB vide press news dated 24.07.2025 also mentioned that the examination will be held on 24.07.2025. Similarly placed person had approached this Court only in the month of September, 2025 and this Court had directed the TRB to consider the representation and the representation has been considered and rejected. This Court is of the opinion that at this stage, if a direction is issued to postpone the examination, it will affect 2,36,530 candidates, who are ready for sit for examination and who have no grievance against the examination being conducted on the specified date. 9. In view of the above, there is no merit in the writ petition. Therefore, the writ petition stands dismissed. No costs.
