When the matter was taken up for hearing today, the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondent 1 to 4 produced the written instructions received from the Assistant Director, Department of Fisheries and Fishermen Welfare, Tiruvarur District. The relevant portions are extracted hereunder:“Based on the Court direction the SDLC committee has inspected the following 7 shrimp farms which is illegally operated without valid registration from the concern Authority, Department. In continuation with this the notice has been served on 17.07.2025 (in person) to farm owners to close the culture activities within 7 days. Details for indicating the farm has effluent Treatment system (ETS).Once the farmers will submit the additional particulars Page No.10 of 14 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP Nos. 29827 of 2025, etc., & Batchwhich are mentioned above, the committee will inspect the farms and will do further process for registration of shrimp a farm which compiles guidelines of Government order.”3. It is clear from the above that the request made by the petitioners is already under consideration and the petitioners are required to furnish the additional particulars as sought for by the 1st respondent and once the same is received, the application will be processed and license will be granted on compliance of the guidelines given under the Government order in G.O.Ms.No.5, Animal Husbandry, Dairying, Fisheries and Fishermen Welfare (FS-4) Department dated 29.01.2024.4.
