Though the learned Additional Public Prosecutor (Puducherry) submitted that already permission was granted to the petitioners to conduct the temple festival, the main grievance of the petitioners is that the 6th respondent being the Minister of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department for Puducherry Union Territory, influencing the respondents police and preventing the petitioners from participating in the festival.3. Heard and perused the materials available on record. 4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the respondents 1 to 5 are directed to restrain the 6th respondent from preventing the petitioners in participating in the festival. Further, the respondent police is directed to give adequate protection to the petitioners for participating in the temple festival.5. With the above directions, this Writ Petition (Criminal) is disposed of.
