Operative part
In the considered view of this Court, for the present, what is sought to be registered is only an award passed by the Lok adalat. The award may consist of lands which are approved and unapproved. That issue is irrelevant insofar registering the award is concerned. The issue regarding the unapproved layout will gain significance only if subsequently documents are presented for registration and it covers lands / property which are unapproved and at which point of time, the registration https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis 3/5WP No. 14938 of 2025department can always take a stand that such unapproved plots / sites cannot be registered without seeking for proper approval under the relevant 2017 Rules. 4. In the light of the above clarification given by this Court, at the risk of repetition, this Court holds that the present writ petition confines itself only to the registration of the award passed by the lok adalat and nothing more. In view of the same, there shall be a direction to the respondent to register the award passed by the Lok Adalat in O.S.No.1140 of 2024 dated 14.12.2024 after collecting the necessary charges. 5. In the result, this writ petition is allowed in the above terms.
