Mr.R.Muniyapparaj, learned Additional Public Prosecutor assisted by Mr.M.Sylvester John, learned counsel accepts notice for the respondents. 2. He has instructions to state that the detenue, Manimegalai, aged 19 years had left her house on account of her dissatisfation with the proposal for an arranged marriage, and the police are in the process of locating her as they have information to the effect that the detenue is in and around Chengalpet. 3. List on 16.03.2026.

2. A mention is made in the forenoon by Mr.Muniyapparaj to the effect that they have secured the detenue, Manimegalai d/o. Meenakshi and hence we directed listing of the matter in a special list today, under the caption ‘for production of detenue’ at 12 noon.

When the matter is called, Mr.Muniyapparaj has produced the detenue / Manimegalai along with one Deva.

We have conversed with the detenue. Her age is 19 years (D.O.B 2/4 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis H.C.P.No.407 of 202621.03.2006). She states that she proposes to return to her parent’s house in Tiruvannamalai. This is recorded.

The detenue was found in the company of one Deva, whose date of birth is 16.06.2008. Though they appear to have been in an intimate relationship over the past few months, neither of them display any interest in pursuing the same. We record this position.

Nothing further survives in this matter for adjudication and recording the aforesaid, this habeas corpus petition is closed. No costs.
