The facts of the case are that the first respondent in W.P.No.28879 of 2015 and the third respondent in W.P.No.28879 of 2015/first respondent in W.P.No.28880 of 2015, who are the husband and wife, were working as Watchman in the lands of the petitioner's husband. It was alleged by the employees that due to illness, they were admitted in the hospital and after recovery from illness, when they were going to join duty, they were prevented by the petitioner's husband and it was informed to them that they were dismissed from service without issuing any notice and thereby, they Page No.3 of 10 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P.Nos.28879 and 28880 of 2015have raised Industrial Disputes in I.D.Nos.229 and 230 of 2007 before the Labour Court and the Labour Court ordered for reinstatement with backwages. Challenging the same, the present Writ Petitions have been filed.3. Today, when the matters are taken up for hearing, the learned counsel appearing for both sides submitted that the matters were amicably settled between the parties and the employees/first respondent in W.P.No.28879 of 2015 and the third respondent in W.P.No.28879 of 2015/first respondent in W.P.No.28880 of 2015, have accepted to receive a sum of Rs.2,50,000/- (Rupees Two Lakhs Fifty Thousand only) as full quit in lieu of reinstatement and backwages awarded in I.D.Nos.229 and 230 of 2007. During the pendency of these writ petitions, since the first respondent in W.P.No.28879 of 2015 has died who is the husband of the third respondent/Andal in W.P.No.28879 of 2015/first respondent in W.P.No.28880 of 2015, Cheque was drawn in the name of Andal.Page No.4 of 10 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P.Nos.28879 and 28880 of 20154.
