Shri. S.D. Karkare, Advocate for petitioner. Shri. V.H. Dighe, Assistant Government Pleader, for respondents. -------- CORAM: NARESH H PATIL & S.B. DESHMUKH, JJ. DATE 3rd JULY 2012 PER COURT : 1) 2) Heard. The grievance of the petitioner, who claims to be one of the Members of the District Level Vigilance Committee working under the Government Resolutions dated 23rd January 2008, is that since 2008 hardly three meetings of the District Level Vigilance Committee were held. 2 W.P. 1926 of 2012 3) Affidavit-in-reply has been filed. The deponent has tried to explain the difficulties in holding the meetings. The learned Assistant Government Pleader submits that in future the authorities would make every endeavour to hold meetings in view of the policy settled by the State Government as reflected in government Resolution dated 23rd January 2008. 4) We find that with a laudable object the State Government issued GR dated 23rd January 2008. This shall be taken use of by all the concerned. Holding of such meetings would help the administration in taking care of the public interests. 5) In view of clause 7(C) of the said Government Resolution responsibility is fastened on the Member Secretary - Additional Collector in the district to supervise and verify as to whether the District Level Vigilance Committee’s meetings are held on regular intervals. We expect the State authorities, District authorities to sincerely implement this Government Resolution in accordance with the scheme framed by the State. 3 W.P. 1926 of 2012 6) In case in future the petitioner finds that without any convincing reason the District Level Vigilance Committee’s meetings are not held, the petitioner is entitled to file appropriate representation to the Collector. 7) The writ petition is disposed of. Authenticated copy of the order be given to the counsel for the petitioner and the Assistant Government Pleader. Sd/- Sd/- (S.B. DESHMUKH, J.)
