3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that, without there being any lawful basis, respondent No. 3 has been interfering in the civil disputes between the petitioner and the unofficial respondents concerning the permit room premises, and has been insisting that the petitioner hand over the said premises. Hence, the present petition has been filed seeking appropriate directions against the unofficial respondents.

4.1. Learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home, on instructions, submits that respondent No. 3 has never interfered in the civil disputes between the parties, and that the allegations regarding any pressure on the petitioner to hand over the premises to the unofficial respondents are baseless and unfounded.

4.2. He further submits that, as per the available records, no complaint or FIR has been registered or is pending in respect of the subject property. lt is therefore contended that the petitioner's allegations of interference are fabricated and intended solely to obtain a favourable order. Accordingly, dismissal of the petition has been sought.

6. The specific grievance of the petitioner is that respondent No' 3 is interfering with his possession over the permit room premises' which is the subject of a civil dispute between the petitioner and the unofficial respondents. The explanation offered by the respondent police authorities indicates that no crime has been registered, nor are any proceedings pending in relation to the premises or against the petitioner.

7. That being the position, and as the nature of the alleged interference is purely civil in nature, respondent No' 3 is directed to refrain from interfering in the civil disputes between the petitioner and the unofficial respondents regarding possession of the subject premises, except in strict accordance with law and by following due process.
