Petition under Article 226 ol the Constitution of lndia praying that in the circumstances stated in the affidavit filed therewith, the High Court may be pleased to issue a Writ, order or direction and more specifically in the nature of mandamus. a. District, as illegal, arbitrary, mala fide and against setfled principles of law and the petitioners rights guaranteed under Afticles 14, 21 and 3004 of the Constitution and b) Consequently direct the Official Respondent No. 4 not to inteiere in the civil disputes between petitioners and respondent Nos. 5 and 6 herein: and c,) Pass such other order or orders

3. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that respondent No. 4 is interfering in civil disputes at the instance of the un cfficial respondents, despite the pendency of civil suits between the parties. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed seeking appropriate directions.

Learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home submits that the respondents/police authorities, particularly respondent No. 4, have never interfered in the civil disputes of the petitioners as alleged. lt is contended that the allegations made in the writ petition are unfounded. Accordingly, he prays for dismissal of the writ petition.

Learned counsel for respondent Nos.5 and 6 submits that the 5th respondent, being aggrieved by the violation of zrn inlunction order granted by a competent civil court, had submitted a police report. He further contends that by seeking relief in this writ petition, the petitioners are attempting to circumvent the due legal process Flence, he prays for passing appropriate orders.
6. I have perused the material placed on record

The contention of the petitioners is that the respondents/police authorities, particularly respondent No.4, have been summoning them to the police station and insisting upon settlement of civil disputes with the \ \ _) NNU LV.P. No. )1960 of 2025 unofficial respondents. Such a pleading, on the face of it, discloses that the dispute is purely civil in nature between the parties

Having regard to this aspect, and keeping in view the limited jurisdiction of the police in matters of civil nature, even during the course of criminal proceedings, respondent No. 4 is directed to refrain from interfering in the civil disputes between the petitioners and the unofficial respondents and shall not, in any manner, initiate or insist upon settlement of such disputes. However, it is clarified that this order shall not, in any way, affect the legal rights of the unofficial respondents to pursue appropriate remedies in accordance with law. L With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No order as to costs. Pending miscellaneous applications, if any, shall stand closed SD/-A.V.S.
