Learned counsel Sri L.Ram Singh appears for the petitioners. Sri T.Ramesh, learned Assistant Government pleader for Medical, Health and Family Welfare Department, appears for respondent No. 1 . Sri T.Sharath, Iearned Standing Counsel for Ka_loji Narayana Rao University of Heatth Sciences (hereinafter referred to as, 'the University) appears for respondent No.2.
2. The petitioners filed this writ petition seeking a direction to the respondents to permit them to register online and exercise web option for admission into MBBS/BDS course under Management Quota 'B' and 'C' categories for the academic year 2025-2026 in the ongoing or next phase of I counselling.
3. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that inadvertently the petitioners could not register for admission 2 under Management Quota 'B' and 'C' categories. Therefore, the University is not permitting them to seek admission under Management Quota 'B' and 'C' categories. He further submits that the petitioners be granted libcrty to submit a representation to the University with regard to their grievance and on such representation being hled, the University may be directed to consider thc same in line with similar order dated 2l .O8.2O25, passed by this Court, in other case such as W.P.No.2456O of 2025
4. Learned Standing Counsel for the University submits that the last date of applications for registration has been closed and the University cannot extend the date. He submits that the counselling process has commenced since
15.09.2025, after the issue of local candidate'was decided by the Honlrle Supreme Court uide judgment dated 01.09.2025 in Special Leave Petition (C) Nos.21536-2 1588 of 2024. Therefore, the University would not be in a position to entertain the petitioners' applications for registration for admission to MBBS/BDS Course under Management euota ,B, and 'C' categories. it would be a futile exercise. I t 3 5 Having regard to the aforesajd circumstances and upon consideration of the submission of learned counsel for the parties, we a_re of the view that since the admission to MBBS/BDS course has a definite timeline required to be adhered Lo by the University and the cut off dates for application or counselling are sacrosanct, there is no point in asking the University to consider the petitioners, applications for fresh registration and participating in the ongoing counselling for admission to MBBS/BDS course under Management Quota B,r and .C, categories. Therefore, we are not inclined to issue any directions to that effect. 6 Accordingly, the Writ petition is dismissed. 7 . At this stage, learned counsel for the petitioners submits that in case the date of applications for registration to the above courses is extended, the petitioners may be gralted liberty to submit applications for admission to MBBS/BDS Course under Management euota ,B, and ,C, categories and on such applications being filed, the Universit5r may be directed to consider the same. I t I 4 It goes without saying that in case the date of 8. applications for registration to the above courses is extended' it would be open for che petitioners to make such al application, which wouid be considered by the respondents in accordance with law. As a sequel, miscellaneous petitions, pending if any' stand closed. There shall be no order as to costs' //TRUE COPY// SD/. MOHD. ISMAIL PUTY REGISTRAR SECTTON OFFICER 'O ,.
