2. Heard Mr.K.Ravinder Reddy, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.M.Srinivas, learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home appearing for respondent Nos. 1 to 6.

3. karned counsel for the petitioner submits that respondent Nos. 5 and 6 have been summoning the petitioner to the police stalion, detaining him for several hours, and insisting that he settle civil disputes with the unofficial respondents. Aggrieved thereby, the petitioner has f ed the present writ petition seeking appropriate directions from this Court.

4. l,earned Assistant Government Pleader for Home submits that, based on a representation made by respondent No. 7, Crime No. 367 of 2OL7 was registered, and after due investigarion, a charge sheet was frled. Consequently, the case has been taken on file as C.C. No. 335 of 2Ol7 on the file of the Court of the i I I I 2 Additional Metropolitan Magistrate, Malkqig,ti, and the matter is presently pending trial. He further submits that the respondent Police have not interfered in any civil dispute involving the petitioner and that the petitioner's presence was secured only for the purpose of investigation in the said crime. Hence, prays that the writ petition be dismissed.

5. I have perused the material placed on record.

Having regard to the petitioner's assertion that the respondent Police authorities are interfering in civil disputes, and keeping in view the limited jurisdiction of the Police in such matters, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the respondent Police authorities to refrain from interfering in the civil disputes between the petitioner and the unoffrcial respondents. However, it is made clear that any action taken by the respondent Police authorities in strict accordance with law and in due process shall stand protected.

7. With this direction, this writ petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
