Petitioner is a resident of Telangana State, whose parents are also employed in the State of Telangana. He hls studied from Class IX to XII in Sainik School Korukonda, Andhra Pradesh under Telangana Statc quota for the academic years 2O2O-24. LIe has undertaken his schooling right throughout from Class I to VIII in the districts which now fall in the State of Telangana. l'lowever, he has not been treated as a local candidate in vicw of G.O.Ms.No.33 dated 19-07.2024 and amendment to the same vide G.O.Ms.No.150 dated \ I 2 HCJ (Al\rs, Jl & c\I11. J W.P No.27933 ot 202S

2. In the list of nor eligible candidatcs published by the respondent U,iversity lor MBBS/BDS Admissions under Competent Authority euota for the acadernic year 2025_26, the name of the petitioner included at SI.No.l63 as an IS AP candidate.

3. Learned counsel for thc petitioner has rclied upon the order dated 24.07.2025 passed W.P.No.19659 of 2025, which is in relation to admission into engineering course of a candidate who had also undertaken his studLs in Sainik School in the State of Andhra pradesh (Annexure p9).

4. This matter was adjoumed yesterday to enable the learned counsel for the State to seek instructions. Today, when the matter has been taken up, learned Advocate General submits that the petitioner, who has studied in Sainik School in the State of Andhra pradesh under the Home State category, can be treated as local canclidate. .fhe petitioner I i 3 IICJ (A}GS, J) & GMM. J w.P.No.27933 ot 2025 would be permitted to exercise his web option and will also be called for counselling. It is submitted that since there was one Sainik School where the students of both the States have undertaken their studies, in view of arrangement made under Section 95 of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganizatiort Acq2014' the Department has decided to Srant relaxation to the students I I of Telangana State who have studied in Sainik School in the State of Andhra Pradesh, till 2024 i'e., in the last ten (10) years.

5. Learned counsel for the petitioner therefore, submits that the matter may be disposed of so that the pet[tioner can approach the respondent University for consideration of his case as a local candidate for admission into MBBS & BDS Courses for the academic year 2025-26.

In view of the submission of the learned Advocate General that the petitioner has been permitted to exercise his web option and will be called for counselling treating him as a local candidate, the grievance of the petitioner has been redressed. 4 IIC, IAJGS.
