By means of this petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India , the petitioners have prayed for setting aside and quashing of the judgment and order dated 30.01.2006 passed by the learned District Judge, Hailakandi in Misc Case No.108/2001 (Annexure5). Further prayer made in the writ petition is to di rect the learned District Judge, Hailakandi to re-adjudicate the matter of compe nsation payable to the petitioners in respect of the damage caused to their home stead land, valuable trees and fruit bearing plants etc. while erected power lin e of 132 KV (EHV) Telegraph line over the petitioners’ land. The learned District Judge, Hailakandi has determined the compensation o n the basis of the evidence on record. This Court exercising its power for revie w, cannot sit on appeal over the assessment made by the learned District Judge i n respect of the awardable compensation to the petitioners. In view of the above, the writ petition is dismissed.
