11.

Having considered the submission advanced by learned counsel for the parties, this Court finds that the accident in question took place on 21.08.2016, whereas the aforesaid notification dated

22.05.2018 provides for an annual enhancement of 5% in the amounts of compensation specified in clauses (a) to (c) of 5 paragraph 1 of the Second Schedule with effect from 01.01.2019. Accordingly, the contention advanced by learned counsel for the appellants seeking enhancement of compensation on the basis of the said notification is devoid of merit and is hereby rejected.

12.

Accordingly, the appeal preferred by the appellants for enhancement of the award amount, being devoid of merit, deserves to be dismissed and is hereby dismissed at the admission stage itself.
